Music Time

The time of the season continues to mean lists, and here’s another one. So without further hesitation, here is a list of my favourite albums of 2006. Yes, I know that a couple of them came out last year, but I’m behind on my listening. And this is almost my last list of 2006.
The Top 5:
- Kate Bush (Aerial). A present last Christmas, although I’ve only started listening to it in the last week. Perfect background music for wrapping this year’s presents, and for writing Christmas posts.
- Graham Coxon (Love Travels at Illegal Speeds). Our one and only camping trip this year was brightened up considerably by my new iPod and the criminally underrated Mr Coxon.
- Morrissey (Ringleader of the Tormentors). More iPod fodder from one of Stephen Patrick Morrissey’s finest albums.
- Snow Patrol (Eyes Open). Jogging fodder, and I thank Snow Patrol for getting me through the training for this year’s half marathon.
- Richard Hawley (Coles Corner). At last, I’ve found an album that me and my wife enjoy.
Making up the 10 in no particular order:
- Zutons (Tired of Hanging Around)
- Gnarls Barclay (St. Elsewhere)
- Paul Weller (As It Is)
- Razorlight (Razorlight)
- Pet Shop Boys (Fundamental)
PS
I’ve only just started listening to Sam’s Town by The Killers, but I’ll imagine it’ll be high on next year’s list.
