Monster

Things I have never done before: part one.

I downloaded my first music today. In between walking in and out of the garden and attending to my daughter and her friend I went to the iTunes music store and downloaded the song ‘Monster’ by Automatic.
Songs cost 79p each, which is about the same as singles cost in 1979 when I bought my first one, ‘Are Friends Electric?’ by Tubeway Army.

The downloaded worked after four attempts, still quicker than walking to Woolworths on a hot afternoon. Which is what I’d have done in 1979, and I also have the cover of ‘Monster’ on my iPod, better than the plain sleeve of ‘Are Friends Electric?’

I am also updating my website sitting in the garden using my wireless connection. Things I have never done before: part two.

What was your first CD?

Revolver. It’s one that doesn’t sound too good on an iPod though. This might be one of the best albums ever made, but it's still in need of a remaster.
